Matthew McConaughey: A Hollywood star who actually thinks for himself

It’s nice to see that some Hollywood A-listers refuse to be mindless mouthpieces for whackadoodle leftism.

Last week on Russell Brand’s podcast “Under the Skin,” Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey called out the hypocrisy of more than a few of his peers for insulting those who doubt this year’s election results.

Brand, a star in his own right, noted that elite liberals tend to unequivocally condemn “ordinary working people” who support Trump.

McConaughey agreed, adding that many on the left automatically “condescend, patronize and are arrogant towards the other 50 percent.” He pointed out how nearly the entire industry was in denial over President Trump’s win four years ago, but the same folks now mock Americans who have mirror-image reactions now.

He also hit Hollywood’s efforts to get people to vote. Celebrities encourage everyone to head to the polls — but then add that there’s only one right way to vote, negating the opinions of half the country.

McConaughey calls for an “aggressively centric” attitude that respects both sides. Sadly, he’s more likely to be targeted as an evil heretic.
